Gig Outfit
I have my first gig in the hotel on Thursday night and, instead of worrying about lyrics and not catching a cold, the only thing I can ponder over is my outfit. I've had visions whizzing round my head for weeks, but everything I put together says something other than what I want it to. I spoke to my eternal inspiration (cough), my mother, about this, and she suggested a dress I bought a few weeks back in H&M, which has only been worn once, to Nando's in Covent Garden. And even then, the dress didn't fulfil its potential. The heel of one of my shoes broke stepping off the train, so I had to clump about in flats all night. With this dress, flats is more than a bad idea, it's a travesty!!! So forgive me if I think the dress is a little jinxed. But everything I pick up is a bad idea. Funds are low right now, and with college only just starting, really haven't got the time or the cash to go proper shopping before Thursday. I may go on a charity-shop rampage round Aberdeen on Wednesday though.... I can't resist, I'm weak! I'm tempted by my unworn birthday present from my darling Hayley (a black knitted French Connection dress) but I think it might be a bit too 'daytime' and casual for this. And so back to square one. I can't dress how I normally would, they'd refuse to pay me. Singing generic songs for a load of bankers, penpushers and housewives is not conducive to me spending two hours looking as eclectic as I possibly could. Boring and generic is what I've been told to go for. Fantastic. My favourite way to dress. Not...
