it's been an eventful weekend, i would say. in a good way, though - definitely. friday night was my college showcase gig and, to my absolute shock, i wasn't even that nervous by the time i had to get up on stage and sing. i think my favourite performance was either 'love machine' (yes, girls aloud!) or 'tonight' by lykke li. something just clicked and i can honestly say that was the first time i've ever felt really really confident performing. maybe it had something to do with the dress i wore - you could hardly be shy wearing something so short - i don't think i've ever had so much skin on show without wearing a bikini!!!!
i was going to stay in the outfit i wore for college on friday to wear at the gig, because i was going to change into my fancy dress for kevin's party at his house when i got back. but then my lovely brother offered to drive me so i wouldn't have to get a bus, so i decided to wear the dress for the gig too!

please excuse the unedited photography and the abominably messy hair, these were taken when i got back from the party! i was also wearing a grey skinny waist belt and had a small black satin handbag, but i was obviously too drunk/forgetful to remember to keep them with me for the photos... dear oh dear. a puffball skirt isn't a shape i'd normally go for - when i first tried one about three years ago, it made my legs look like hams. but when i tried this on, it actually made my legs look slimmer, so i'm becoming a bit of a convert! i even managed to dance all night in my shoes and didn't take them off once - unheard of for me!!!
saturday was spent sleeping until 3pm (honestly...) and then i dragged myself out of bed and decided to get dressed for a quiet night at the local. which turned into the biggest, most expensive pub crawl i have ever been on. i won't even say how much i spent because a) i'm disgusted with myself and b) i can't remember or work out the actual total...! but now i am poor beyond poor and i have no idea how to make some quick money!! i still have some christmas shopping to do, a holiday to fund, a bus pass (believe me, its essential) to pay for and then money to actually live on! this is not funny!!! i'm going to spend the rest of this afternoon trying to work out how to make some cash to live on, before my parents find out how poor i really am! but this is what i wore last night, by the way:

grey vest - primark
cropped cardigan - primark
skinny belt - primark
skirt - gap
knee-high socks - river island
cream mary-janes - a random shoe store
also excuse the hair in this photo... i took this when i was trying outfits out, before i actually bothered to do anything with my hair. i don't actually go out of the house looking like i've been through hedges!!! anyway, i hope you all had a brilliant weekend!!
