at last...

a half-decent post coming your way, i told you not to give up on me!!

i actually went shopping for myself today. something i haven't done in over two months, due to being permanently skint because of my silly stupid student funders. grrr. anyway, now i actually have a little bit of christmas money to spend (little being the operative word...) i decided i should maybe treat myself a little little. i actually felt guilty about spending approximately £30 and a £20 voucher... that's what happens when you get very poor for a bit, children!!

but getting onto the important bit... i have actually gone very money-cautious (i won't say tight because it pains me so) so i decided to start off in the old faithful for little pick-me-ups, primark. i know, nothing is of exceptional quality, but i am one of those annoying people who would much rather have a lot of cheap and cheerful clothes than three extortionately expensive outfits with labels in that no one would know about unless you told them. sorry.

i've been looking for a plain simple black tunic dress for a while. should be very easy to find but its taken me until now to snap up the perfect one for me...

obviously, being black, the detailing hasn't shown up tremendously well but it is very pretty. it has a ruched bow effect along the chest panel and is tiered slightly at the bottom. the sleeves are my favourite bit, they're made of chiffon and are very floaty and bat-ish. also, the material has a nice little shimmer to it when it catches the light. it was very cheap at £13 (£12.71 because of the whole tax-reduction thing, but you know what i mean...) but i still felt a little guilty about buying more clothes. silly me.

i bought myself some brilliant thick grey schoolgirl tights too, you know the kind i mean. very heavy duty warm wool, in a lovely wintry dark grey. i'm getting a bit sick of having to keep buying lots and lots of black tights and i thought they might make a nice change. i'm not brave enough for this whole brightly-coloured tights trend anyway, so at least i can get in on the act in a very subtle way..!

my last and favourite primark purchase though, were the shoes which i have now christened 'the babymaking shoes'. they just are the sex, for want of a better description. i have lusted after a very expensive version of these shoes for a long time and when i wandered down to the shoe floor on the offchance, i was stunned. they are almost exactly the same. and i had to buy them in a size smaller than usual, which speaks for how cheap they are but its a nice boost :)
but the price? a mere £15.
i'm lying.
they were £15, reduced to a tear-inducing £6!!!!!

the photos aren't so great, but honestly, these things look so hot on my feet its unreal! i want to wear them with the tights and the tunic and just feel cool for a day...! shoes from primark obviously aren't the best quality you'll get on the high street and i strongly recommend not buying your everyday shoes from there, unless you feel like replacing them a lot... but for occasional shoes like these, you can't really go wrong. there's not a lot of point spending a huge amount of money on shoes you can't wear a lot so it's worth your money to just get a cheap pair that won't last so long but won't be a huge waste of money!

i got given a £25 oasis voucher for christmas, and as i have already mentioned, i don't really buy anything at all in oasis. i had a similar predicament when i got the same gift for my birthday... argh!!! so i did what i did last time and just spent the voucher on a fancy dress that i won't wear a lot but it will look nice in my wardrobe...

i might actually wear it tomorrow, depending on what we do! it's got such a nice cut to it, very nipped in at the waist but the skirt puffs out beautifully. there's a lot of netting and lace underneath the skirt to help it out and it just feels so girly to wear! it's made of like black jacquard, just covered over with black and silver sparkling lace. sounds very bad, looks very nice. £20 of that voucher well spent...

i also treated myself to a double string of hair pearls for £4 from miss selfridge. i've seen a lot of girls wearing similar things instead of straight-up alice bands and i think they are very pretty. i have a bit of a thing for pearls anyway so these will fit straight into my collection!

HOW pretty??!!

I totally have a thing for pearls too, and your hairband is lovely! I went sale shopping too and found nothing, which was very frustrating because my Mum was there ready and willing to pay! The Oasis dress is very pretty too, I'm not a great fan of that shop either, truth be told!

Your New Years plans sound lovely though, have an amazing time! I don't even know what I'm doing yet...so hate being last minute!
