little weeny update

but not a proper one, because I'm still hopelessly wrapped up in my own little world, living in my duvet and bedsocks, and existing on cups of tea and marmite sandwiches... honestly. what a way to bring in the first month, i promise february will bring a perkier laura and proper blogging will finally return, as i keep promising. but it will happen!!

there are two reasons for my lack of posting in recent weeks. one is a more personal one and involves me staying in all week feeling sorry for myself, and then ripping it up at the weekends to feel a lot better. which is working tremendously well, if you're wondering :)
the second reason is related. i have no money, none, zilch, zip, zero. because i keep spending it on these immense weekends with the girlfriends. whoops. i haven't actually been on a proper shopping trip since about october, perhaps september. shocking. so when college pays me some proper money and i finally get some wages, i will treat myself and hopefully you lot too, with some blogs. obviously. "/

i have managed to treat myself a little over the past few weeks though. very cheaply too! a few weeks ago, whilst waiting for a lift home, i popped into miss selfridge (where i always try on lots and leave with nothing) and found a regular beauty of a dress. i took no photos of me wearing it and at the moment it is in the wash, and there are no photos of it on the website, but i will post the next time i wear it! it's a gorgeous navy silk dress, decorated with a ruffled cream hem, puff sleeves and adorable buttons. it was originally £60 but i paid only £7! £7 for a silk dress??!! i was very pleased with that!

the other little treat was completely free, courtesy of work! two saturdays ago, we were the best shop in scotland for sales and profit that day, and head office awarded us with £150 of free stock, which worked out at roughly £25 for each girl. so i chose a dress i'd had my eye on anyway, which i also have no photos of yet!! it's a gorgeous black lacy tunic dress, with cream lace detailing on the chest, sleeves and pockets. it's very short but it's adorable and everyone asked me where i got it when i wore it at the weekend! so pleased i got it for free!!
