quiet night in??

it was a busy day yesterday - a long long long day at college, and then babysitting for my aunt all night! bang went my plans for a boozy night out...! so here it is, yesterday's outfit was:

(navy cardigan - zara, white vests - topshop, skirt - primark, navy tights - primark, ballet pumps - h&m, swallow necklace - primark)

while i was bored last night, i took the rare opportunity to raid my auntie's bulging wardrobe. we have a very different style but there's always something in there that catches my eye. last night it was the turn of a delicate printed silk dress and my favourite shoes ever - her black suede, peeptoe platforms from office. i borrow them on every occasion that i can, but i was horrified to see the heel tips had finally given out, and they are now unwearable until she can be bothered to get them reheeled!!!

(silk dress - warehouse, tights - primark, cropped jacket - miss selfridge)

this whole outfit was very different from what i would normally wear, but it was fun to try on something to skintight and glamorous - i only wish i'd managed to fit the shoes in the picture! the length and cut of the dress, paired with the opaque tights, gave me an extremely slimline shape that i was unaware i had, this was only boosted with the addition of the beautiful shoes!

my auntie also came up trumps with makeup. she often buys clinique cosmetics by the bucketload, and ends up receiving boxes of free tester-size cosmetics, most of which she already has. so i got to have a pick through last night and managed to choose myself some wonderful skincare items, a high impact mascara, a beautifully shiny lipgloss and a sexy red lipstick, something i would normally avoid like the plague!

(long last lipstick in all heart, £12, clinique)

(long last glosswear spf15 in bamboo pink, £12, clinique)

(high impact mascara in black, £12.50, clinique)

(dramatically different moisturising lotion, £26, clinique)

(turnaround 15-minute facial mask, £25, clinique)

i don't think i did too badly out of it really, did i??!
